“I first sampled Grenache rosé with my wife, Holly, at a highway stop outside Avignon. It was late, we were starving, and the restaurant’s parking lot was jammed with semis. The menu had one fixed offering: escargots, grilled dorade, and crème brûlée. French truckers eat well. As we started, the chef came to our table, chatted, and poured us a slightly chilled rosé from a nearby vineyard. Oh, mama. Pure bliss. This wine is a nod to Provence and to that accidental dining moment. Vive la Provence!”
